Tree House Rentals In Austin, Texas

Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a unique experience for your family or friend group, tree house rentals are some of the most amazing places to stay.

If you live in or around the Austin area, there are plenty of stunning tree houses for rent that offer to connect you with the world around you and provide gorgeous scenery that you’ll never get in a hotel or standard house rental.

Austin is one of the best areas for tree houses because most Austin homeowners practice great tree care and they happen to live in one of the most beautiful environments for long-term tree health. And what is a treehouse without a healthy tree?

We’ve put together this list of the top thirteen tree house vacation rentals in and around Austin, TX, to help you find the best one for your needs. Get ready for luxury living 50 feet above the ground!

Best Tree House Rentals In Austin

As professional arborists, we love when something like a tree house rental can bring someone closer to nature and spark some intrigue about the trees that make life on earth possible.

We love it even more when a tree house rental is safe, affordable, and clean! Our list of the best tree house rentals in Austin takes into consideration all of these criteria and more to ensure a pleasant stay and a positive experience. Let’s get started!

1. Treehouse Utopia: Biblioteque

Named after the Spanish word for library, the Biblioteque is one of the most impressive luxury tree houses we’ve seen.

You access the rental via a long, elevated bridge that lets you walk among the surrounding tree canopies before settling into your cozy home for the weekend.

The home sleeps two in a stunning king-size bed. Above the bed are lighted, tree-inspired decorations that make you feel as if you’re sleeping beneath the stars.

The rest of the home is decorated like an earthy library, so you’ll feel warm and cozy no matter where you spend your time inside.

The whole home is heated and cooled by mini splits, so you and your guest will be comfortable no matter what time of year you check in.

There is no TV, but with so much rich nature and beautiful decor around you, you probably won’t mind so much! You can always head outside and relax on the outer deck, which is perfect for stargazing. You will have access to WiFi, which is included in the nightly rate.

Treehouse Utopia has three other treehouse rentals, but this one is our personal favorite for the decor and access to the outdoor area.

2. Hobbit’s Nest Treehouse

If you’re a Tolkein fan and have ever wondered what it was like to spend a night in a Hobbit’s house, this rental might be perfect for you!

Set in the canopy of a dense and beautiful forest rather than underground, this Hobbit-inspired treehouse can sleep four, but we recommend no more than two. It’s a one-bedroom home, so the maximum occupancy will likely feel a bit cramped.

That is, unless you bring your four-legged friend; this rental is pet-friendly!

The interior is decorated with beautiful wood features and decor, and the space feels clean and tidy. There is a mini split, electricity, and a mini fridge for maximum comfort.

While the interior is impressive, the outdoor spaces are far more alluring, in our opinion. There is a dining area on the deck that offers incredible views of the Lost Pines Forest, as well as an under-home relaxation nook with hanging chairs and ample lighting for late-night hangouts.

3. The Nest

From the second you walk in the enchanting entrance to this treehouse rental, you’ll understand why it’s one of our favorites. This rental is the perfect blend of privacy and sprawling views.

You’ll enjoy the literal nest nook on the balcony where you can stargaze in private, as well as the deck area where you can dine and enjoy the views of the 50 acres of private land around you.

This rental sleeps two, making it a great romantic treehouse getaway. It’s complete with air conditioning, heating, a mini fridge, and a kitchenette. Don’t worry: there’s also a coffee maker!

The interior of this treehouse is stunningly decorated, and it feels like the perfect blend of nature-inspired decor and modern living.

4. Live Oak Treehouse

The Live Oak Treehouse is another spectacular option for a romantic getaway. It sleeps two very comfortably, and it includes air conditioning, a kitchenette, and free WiFi. It’s set in Texas Hill Country, so there are plenty of activities for couples and families.

The bedroom features a massive glass garage door that provides access to beautiful scenery and a sun-kissed interior when closed.

Open it and the opposite doors, and you’re suddenly in a breezy and ultimately comfortable nook set high up in the canopy of an oak tree.

The outdoor space is just as impressive, with a dining area outside, as well as an outdoor hot tub and relaxation space down below and a hammock and seating area on the deck in the treetop.

No matter where you go in or around this rental, you’ll be immersed in soothing nature and stunning views.

5. Sycamore Treehouse

The Sycamore Treehouse is somewhat unassuming as you approach it, but you’ll be blown away by the decor and the feeling of tranquility once you’re inside.

It’s the perfect mix of rustic and modern comfort, connecting you with nature but providing necessities like a comfortable king bed, free WiFi, air conditioning, and a clean space to relax and breathe in the fresh air.

The outdoor deck area has chairs for lounging among the tree canopy, and it’s lit with beautiful white lights that add to the ambiance.

You can hear the Palo Alto creek trickling in the distance if the birds aren’t too loud! If you’re more keen on staying inside, you can gaze out into nature through the massive Adirondack windows.

This rental sleeps two and serves as the perfect romantic getaway for any occasion.

6. The Hive

The Hive is the perfect 2-person getaway, but there is a fold-out bed in case you need to bring an additional guest. The interior of this treehouse is both modern and rustic, and the massive windows and glass doors offer plenty of views of the tree canopies and nature.

Guests will have access to air conditioning, a full bathroom, and a kitchenette, but there is no TV or internet available.

We’re confident you won’t mind this caveat, as hanging out outside on the dimly lit porch and stargazing is sure to keep any guest happy and relaxed. There’s even an in-floor hammock perfect for two on the deck.

This treehouse is located just minutes from Dinosaur Valley State Park, so you’ll have access to hiking trails and beautiful scenery in just a short walk from the rental.

7. The Yoki Treehouse

The Yoki Treehouse is fully suspended in a giant oak and among a variety of cypress trees, with a suspension bridge leading you from the primary rental to a private bathhouse, also set among the canopy.

The bathroom has a luxurious soaking tub and unbelievable views of nature for ultimate relaxation and privacy.

You’ll enjoy access to a king bed as well as a twin bed set up in a loft for additional guests. There is a full kitchen and lounging area inside, all complete with large windows and glass doors for an unimpeded view of the beautiful trees around the treehouse. There’s a very alluring outdoor area with lounge chairs and a constant breeze.

You can comfortably sleep three in this treehouse, and there’s plenty of living area to accommodate even more. The entire rental is air conditioned, so you and your guests will be comfortable even in the warm Texas summer.

8. Ryders Treehouse

This cozy, two-person treehouse rental is set on an active ranch that spreads out over an impressive 800 acres. From any point in the house, you’ll have unimpeded views of nature to bring you closer to the world around you.

We especially love the outdoor dining areas that are open and breezy.

There’s a swinging bench, lounge chairs, and a propane grill for cooking while you enjoy the open air. You and your guests can sit around the fire pit at night or watch the stars from the upper deck or hammock down below.

The interior is just as gorgeous as the outside. It’s beautifully decorated and lit, making the bedroom and living area very inviting.

There is a TV, indoor fireplace, and air conditioning, so you’ll feel right at home when you’re ready to shut the doors and windows and relax at night.

9. The Extraordinary Treehouse

As the name suggests, the Extraordinary Treehouse is anything but ordinary. Both the exterior and interior are dripping with rustic charm, despite its location just outside Dallas and near Downtown Austin.

Everything from the spiral staircase inside, the large indoor fireplace next to floor-to-ceiling windows, and the balcony looking down from the main bedroom onto the living area will make you feel like you’re living in a fairytale.

This treehouse has a full kitchen, a jacuzzi-style tub, and air conditioning to optimize relaxation and comfort and make you feel at home.

The outdoor lounge area among the trees with a bridge leading over a small creek just makes this rental extra special. You can head down to the ground level and walk the footpaths surrounding this gem.

This is a larger house that can comfortably sleep four people in two bedrooms, and it has two bathrooms as well for added privacy.

10. Lake Travis Treehouse

For those who enjoy a more modern feel inside but still want easy access to nature on their terms, this treehouse rental in Spicewood on Lake Travis is ideal. It’s one of the larger treehouses available near Austin, and you could sleep up to nine. However, six is definitely more comfortable.

The inside is decorated like a modern beach house, so you’ll have the opportunity to step away from the views outside if you need to and feel more at home.

The living room still has floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of the lake, and it’s complete with an indoor fireplace and TV for more modern comfort.

A community swimming pool and tennis court, nearby hiking, air conditioning, a full kitchen, and free WiFi are just some of the things that will make you feel like you’re living in the lap of luxury when you rent here.

11. The Birdhouse

The Birdhouse by Skybox Cabins is the perfect destination for an intimate two-person getaway. It sleeps two comfortably in a spacious queen bed and includes a full kitchen and air conditioning.

The interior is drenched in rustic charm and natural beauty, with an impressive stone shower, stunning natural lighting, and large windows ideal for taking in the fresh air and scenery around you.

There’s an outdoor breakfast nook on the upper deck that offers delightful views and quiet tranquility you won’t soon forget.

This treehouse is located near hiking in Dinosaur Valley State Park, shopping, and plenty of destination restaurants for those looking for a blend of modern entertainment and more rustic and relaxing accommodations.

12. Juniper Treehouse

The Juniper Treehouse is a small, private, 2-person rental that’s perfect for a romantic getaway or couple’s retreat. This treehouse shares some community spaces with the Willow Treehouse from the same company, so be ready for a less private outdoor area, including a deck for lounging and eating, a pool, and bathrooms.

The Juniper is a single-room treehouse more in line with “glamping.” It’s small, but it’s also cozy and super private, and it isn’t as flimsy or exposed as yurts that are commonly used for glamping.

It’s located under a part of the zipline canopy tours in the area, so expect some company from above if you’re relaxing outdoors. It’s situated above a bubbling creek that provides tranquility for those relaxing or eating on the suspended deck.

There is no internet or air conditioning, so keep this in mind before booking!

13. Cloud 9 Tree Haus

Cloud 9 Tree Haus is suspended just a few feet in the air on tree trunks, but inside you’ll see a number of trunks and branches growing through the living area, adding to the natural beauty. The decor is rustic but modern, and it will make anyone feel at peace and at home.

This Texas treehouse rental sleeps up to four guests comfortably, but it only has one full bathroom.

The living area is cozy and complete with large windows for endless views of the surrounding nature. There’s a kitchenette for food prep, and we’d bet most of your meals will be enjoyed on the outdoor deck that is breezy and comfortable year-round.

This treehouse shares common grounds with several others, so the outdoor area offers less privacy than many other treehouse options.

There is a shared saltwater pool and picnic tables, so you can expect some socialization if you plan to spend your time outside. If you’re looking for hiking and scenery nearby, you’ll be very close to the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels.

Wrapping Up

All of these Austin treehouse cabins offer a beautiful and tranquil escape from the city and suburbs.

Most deliver stunning views and peaceful interaction with nature, as well as the modern comforts you expect from an AirBnB rental home.

Whether you’re looking for an ideal couple’s retreat or an unforgettable weekend getaway for your family, these tree house rentals in Central Texas are sure to please!
